1 round is not a battle
This is not a Shot at today's Battle Events and Contests. All Originals agree that today's events have kept the scene alive and kicking and offer a way for dancers like myself to make an honest living in HIP HOP and FUNK STYLES dance. Props to all Major HIP HOP and FUNK events that have great intentions of keeping our culture alive for the next generation. Offering young dancers opportunities to make a name for themselves, and giving outlets for BBOYS and BGIRLS to stay busy and show there skills. Now with that said. These Events Host Contests People! That's Right Dance Contests with a Battle Format. But the Battle format is made to create a decisive outcome so that the event coordinators can give away prizes, money and trophies. To do this the promoters hire 3 or more Judges to make quick decisions on who won these short Battle style contests. These decisions are based on OPINION! There is not a Number System or SCORE SHEET on Earth that can change this fact! It will always come down to the JUDGES OPINION! Gone are the days when a HIP HOP dancer Battled, strictly for STREET CREDIBILITY and yes Girls! lol (same for the females) So My Question to you is: Why do Dancers complain so much to judges about the outcome of these Contests!!?? Do yall really consider these Dance Events Contests, Real Battles? To an OG 3 rounds does not constitute a real battle. It's just the mind set of HIP HOP and FUNK dancers who are so caught up in losing these Contests. They forget that 3 JUDGES are just 3 OPINIONS. and that does not EQUATE to a BATTLE LOSS! You Simply lost in a Contest! Cause in a real battle, the crowd/cipher is the judge. And when you lose in a cipher battle, YOU WILL KNOW IT! In the PIT of your STOMACH. the PAIN and Humiliation is WORST. Trust! Losing a CIPHER BATTLE is prolly the EQUIVALENT of losing a FIGHT in a DARK ALLEY. Only a few People saw it, and you hope they don't tell nobody. lol.... Now the reason why I say losing in a Cipher is WORST! Is because in a Cipher battle, THERE IS NO HOST TO SAVE YOU AFTER 3 ROUNDS! =/..... That means you either have to QUIT! or TAKE a KNEE and act like your TIRED (BOW DOWN), or you try and keep going (like your still in it =/ and look STUPID GETTING SMOKED. Or how I really know when I'm smoking someone is WHEN THEY GET MAD and WANNA FIGHT! =O Got'em! And the whole SPIN THE BOTTLE THING? that shiet don't make sense. Last time I played SPIN THE BOTTLE as a kid, I Kissed a GIRL. So If have to spin the Bottle for Two BBOYS, they gotta KISS! Not Battle. lol... Yall should be fighting for those BEATS!...=/
