When Biggie Smalls dropped the line 'snatching ropes at the roxy homeboy, you didn't know". I remember the Roxy Nights very well. It was a Rock Steady Crew hangout. I was just wondering how old he was, when he was sticking people up at the Roxy.. I was there when cats was getting robbed outside on many nights. There was one year practically all of Brooklyn was standing outside catching celebrities who were exiting the most famous Hip Hop Spot of the early 80's. The ROXY was built on BRONX HIP HOP, pioneers, and CELEBRITIES that liked to rub elbows with the Bronx kids. Many showed up every weekend like early MADONA, LAURENCE FISHBURN, groups like THE CLASH, and many high level celebs were in the house for that early BBOY vibe. It got to the point, they were not letting anyone in thuggish looking cats any more. So outside the Roxy, was a MOB of Stick Up kids waiting for Victims. i remember the first night this happened in the mid 80's.And it was cats getting jacked right in front, or during the long walk to the train station through dark streets. That spelled the end of the greatest Hip Hop Night spot of the early 80's.

Other wise, some people choose a name based on his or her movement, add the word BOOGIE and your Initials, Start with MR, or MRS and add a funky move like MR WIGGLES ;), Use your CITY and add your initials. Try starting with a 3 letter word taken from your first or last name, or do like POP MASTER FABEL and open a dictionary, cover your eyes, flick the pages, and point at a random word (true story), then change the spelling of the word to give the name a twist.

But it takes a patient mindset to study foundation without getting anxious to grow. You are good once you can combine rhythm, groove, steps, and moves with confidence.
